Meet Our Founder

Allison Baron

Allison Baron is a seasoned coach, trusted advisor, and values-driven leader. Her expertise and perspective comes from myriad professional experiences and the connections she maintains with clients and former colleagues around the country.

Over her ~20-year career, Allison has served as a coach to CEOs and leadership teams in the social sector, a 9th grade math teacher in Chicago Public Schools, and a consultant in a range of contexts in the U.S. and abroad.

The tools, frameworks, and anecdotes she shares with Chime clients are a product of her years “on the ground” — as a classroom teacher and in a south side network office of Chicago Public Schools — and as an advisor who sees common challenges and patterns across dozens of organizations. She currently partners with The Bridgespan Group as a Facilitator and Coach for its Leading for Impact® program. Through the program, she helps ambitious nonprofits pursue strategic opportunities and develop their teams, and she has presented to groups of 60+ executives on topics such as decision-making, program strategy, and using data to manage priorities.

Prior to founding Chime, Allison gained top-tier strategic advising experience at the Boston Consulting Group and Bellwether Education Partners. As an Associate Partner at Bellwether, she led strategic planning efforts with school districts, nonprofits, charter management organizations, and education startups.  As a Project Leader at BCG, she worked with global companies and government entities on mergers and large-scale change efforts.  What inspires her work today is her time as a 9th grade Algebra teacher to almost 200 students in Chicago. She shares her clients’ imperative to build a better, more equitable world for all our kids.

Allison holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Michigan. She resides in Chicago and with her husband, David, and their kids Ellie and Jack.

Our Name

For us, the sound of a wind chime is beautiful, energizing, and seemingly effortless. But its design is quite deliberate, just like that of a highly effective team. The rods are different lengths and produce unique tones, they hold their own space but are strung to easily collide, and there is a piece on top that holds everything together. A chime makes music in all types of weather, and exceptional ones stay intact even during a storm.

The world is changing quickly. Teams who are flexible and intentional will thrive. We would be honored to partner with you.

At Chime Partners, we’re on a mission to build teams and organizations with intentionality.

When leaders agree to invest in the foundation of how they work and what they are trying to accomplish, the day-to-day starts to feel smooth and increasingly impactful. It’s energizing.
